Key Stage 5 Curriculum
At Brighouse Sixth Form College we offer a broad range of Level 3 courses, delivering both traditional academic A Levels and Applied subjects.
Our aim is to ensure that our students are embarking on the subjects which will allow them to thrive and be successful learners and prepare for their next steps whether that be University or employment and apprenticeships.
We firmly believe that the first step in academic success lies with matching the right courses to individual needs, abilities and aptitudes and we will support students through this decision-making process.
We have four pathways and throughout the application process we will look at GCSE precited and actual results to look at the correct route.
Academic Pathway: 3 A Level subjects
Vocational Pathway: 3 Applied subjects
Mixed Pathway: A combination of A Level and applied subjects
Level 2 Pathway: A one-year level 2 (bridging course) including re-sit GCSE Mathematics & English Language
As part of the Key Stage 5 curriculum there are also opportunities for enrichment and extended learning; students can carry out an Extended Project (EPQ), they might choose to get involved in the CREST Science Award or completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
